pretty pictures make everything nicer

Well, as you might have read a few posts ago… I have an amazing best friend. You can read more about her here. She is so generous and extremely talented. She owns her own business in NYC and it is for sure blossoming, which makes me appreciate her time even more. She flew down from NYC for a weekend to teach a photography workshop to some wonderful ladies in our hometown. I feel so fortunate to have someone like her go to the lengths she does to help us out. She is truly a blessing to have in my life.

The day was so fun. We were lucky to have wonderful weather about 70 and a little overcast. I really just hung around in the kitchen and snapped pictures while she was teaching – now I’m kicking myself in the butt for not paying attention! I’m pretty jealous of everyone else’s pretty pictures. I told her if she does another class I’m definitely signing up and borrowing my dad’s camera. I don’t have a camera at all, not even a point & shoot. I just recently got an iphone so now I at least have that. I know, I know, I’m extremely far behind with technology. At least I have managed a blog and hopefully someone is reading this and it’s not all for nothing ha ha.

I made little favors for all the girls as a thank you! Notecards and matching water bottles for class. Thankfully I have perks of working at a print shop so all the materials were donated by my work! We also had some amazing pink champagne cupcakes that Kerry (one of the girls that signed up) brought us. I made some snacks and 2 Double Chocolate Cream Pies (mine and my mom’s new favorite recipe). I think I might have packed on a couple of pounds that day, but it was so worth it. Pictures below of course!

But anyways on to the important stuff! Brittany raised $1350.00 for our adoption! This is the fundraiser that has now put us over half way! I’ll write about that some more later. It’s a pretty big deal and we could not be more thankful! We could have never expected that so many random and definitely not random people would want to help us out and be so generous with getting our son home! THANK YOU, even if you’re just reading this post right now, thank you enough for being interested in our adoption and our lives to take the time to stay posted on how it’s going.

Here are some pictures from the day! Enjoy!

PS thank you to Sara for letting us use her gorgeous house! And of course I broke something as soon as I walked in :/ How typical. She is so sweet, she didn’t even bat an eye at it. I’m sorry Sara if you’re reading this!! Hopefully Richard has already fixed it!

PSS If you would like to read more about the class from a student’s point of view, check out Emily’s post here! You can even see some before and after pictures she took!
